What is PA Pick 4?
Pick 4 is a lottery draw game played across a large number of US states. Each state has slightly different rules and add-ons, but the format is always the same: pick four numbers from 0 to 9, and win by matching them all at the next drawing. You're currently on the website for Pennsylvania Pick 4.
When are the Pick 4 Drawings?
PA Pick 4 has two daily drawings: the Day drawing, held at 1:35 PM, and the Evening drawing at 6:59 PM ET.
What time do Pick 4 ticket sales close?
The ticket sales cutoff for the Day drawing is 1:05 PM, and 6:57 PM for the Evening drawing. Tickets purchased after the cutoff are still valid, but for the following draw, not the one taking place in the next 30 minutes.
How do you win a prize in Pick 4?
This depends on the Play Type you chose when you bought your ticket! You can win a Straight Play by matching the winning numbers in drawn-order, you win a Box Play by matching in any order, and Straight/Box Plays can be won either way. Check the
Ways to Play page for more details.
How much does a Pick 4 ticket cost?
Pick 4 tickets cost either $0.50 or $1, and it's up to the player to decide how much they want to bet. All you need to remember is that the prizes for $1 bets are twice as high as the prizes for $0.50 bets!
How much can I win?
In Pick 4, the prize tiers are fixed, and won't change from draw to draw. The top prize is $5,000, which you can win by placing a $1 bet on a Straight play, and successfully matching all four winning numbers in drawn-order. Check the rest of the prizes on the
Odds and Prizes page.
What are my chances of winning?
Winning the top prize of $5,000 has odds of 1 in 10,000, but if you want to optimize your chances of winning to the max, the best odds you can get are 1 in 104. Visit the Odds & Prizes page for all the tiers in-between.
What is the Wild Ball add-on?
The Wild Ball is an optional extra that Pennsylvania players can add to their Pick 4 tickets. Along with the main four numbers, every draw also includes a fifth "Wild Ball" number from 0-9. Players who have opted for the Wild Ball can swap out any of the main drawn numbers with the Wild Ball number to create more winning combinations. Adding the Wild Ball doubles the cost of each ticket, but more than doubles the chances of winning a prize!
Does Pick 4 have an age limit?
You must be 18 or over to play Pick 4 in Pennsylvania (this limit also applies to all other lottery games in PA).
Will my Pick 4 prize be taxed?
If you win more than $600 in one go, your prize will be subject to taxation.
Can I play future Pick 4 draws in advance?
Yes! Use the "Number of Draws" section on your playslip to get tickets for upcoming draws. You'll receive your ticket for the next draw, plus duplicate tickets for 2 to 7 additional future draws.
How are the draws conducted?
PA Pick 4 drawings are conducted using a random number generator, rather than physical balls being drawn from a machine.
How can I claim my prizes?
Pick 4 prizes can be claimed from any authorized lottery retailer, by visiting Pennsylvania Lottery offices and completing a claims form, or by mailing your winning ticket (along with a claims form) to the address below. For more details, visit our
Odds and Prizes page.

What is the cut-off time for claiming a prize?
For all draw games in Pennsylvania (including Pick 4), winners have a year following the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Once a year has passed, all winning tickets are considered expired, and can no longer be redeemed.
What happens if my ticket is lost, damaged, or stolen?
Lottery tickets can only be redeemed if you are in possession of them, and they are clearly legible. If your winning ticket has been lost, damaged, or stolen you won't be able to claim any prizes. There is a possibility that, provided sufficient evidence, the Pennsylvania Lottery will be able to validate a damaged ticket at one of their offices, but this is not guaranteed. If you're having trouble with your tickets, why not play online by visiting our Tickets page? Digital tickets can't be lost, damaged, or stolen after all!
